his is a member of the Feldspar family. The Labradorite specimens from Madagascar, are usually grey in colour, and have a particularly bright flash. This flash of spectral colours is due to rays of light catching the plate-like composition. The colours include yellow, green, blue, red and occasionally, purple.
Most of the specimens are polished on one surface, which brings the flash out beautifully. On many of the pieces, the flash is visible even on the unpolished surfaces.
